What is PET preform mold?

2023-10-25

A preform mold for PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is a mold used in the production of PET bottles. PET preforms are tiny, pre-made plastic bottles with a test tube-like shape that are blown into bigger bottles using blow molding machines after being stretched. Before the PET material is blown into bottles, the mold is used to shape it into the appropriate shape of the preform. To produce consistent, high-quality preforms, these molds are usually composed of premium steel and are extremely exact. PET preform molds are widely utilized in the manufacturing of beverage, cosmetic, and other product bottles.

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a thermoplastic polymer resin that is well-known for its strength, transparency, and resistance to chemicals and moisture. PET is commonly used to make PET preforms. PET is widely employed in the production of PET preforms, which are used in the blow molding and injection molding processes, as well as in a wide range of products, such as food containers, carbonated drinks, and packaging materials.
